WWII Veteran

It is with great sadness that we announce our husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa & great-great-grandpa, uncle & friend passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2023 at Huronlea Home for the Aged in Brussels, at the age of 96, just days before his 97th birthday. Beloved husband to Alice Taylor who predeceased him in 2007, and Lois Taylor.

George was born March 30th, 1926, in Lucknow, Ontario to his late parents Minnie & George. He was the youngest brother to Evelyn, Norman, Lewis, Edwin and Albert all predeceased.

Beloved father to Beverley Foubert (Tony – predeceased), Barry Taylor, David Taylor (predeceased), John & Susan Taylor, Nancy & Hardee Distad.

Grandfather to Julie & Kevin Stevens, Tracy & Jason McKenna, Cher Taylor & Justin, Kim Taylor, Mike Taylor, and Sam Taylor. Great grandpa to Nicole (Jeremy), Tyler, Alyssa, Kayla, Jordan, Lauren, Blake, Madison, Owen. Great-great-grandpa to Chloe & Cash. Brother-in-law to Myrtle Irwin. Fondly remembered by Lois’ children, grandchildren and extended family. George will be remembered and missed by his many nieces, nephews, & friends.

A special thank you to Huronlea Home for the Aged where George resided since July 2021. The care, compassion and kindness provided by all was second to none.

George loved his family to the fullest and lived a life full of memories for family and friends to cherish.

He was a proud WWII veteran of the Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 30, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the funeral service. A Legion Branch 309 service will be held on Thursday March 30, 2023 at 5:30 PM. MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, ON

Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday March 30, 2023 at the Lucknow Legion.
